Enhance, protect, innovate: Exploring overmolding techniques with FERONYL

The technique of overmolding consists of performing a molding on a product.

In plasturgy, the overmolding technique consists of injecting plastic onto an insert (made of metal, plastic, ceramic,etc.).

The purpose of the overmolding can be, for example:
- to protect the overmolded insert (electrical protection, protection against impacts, etc.)
- to mix two plastic materials in order to obtain: two colours, a hard part and a soft part, etc.

Overmolding techniques:
- overmolding by insertion of an insert in a mold
- overmolding by two-material injection (injection of the plastic insert and overmolding in one and the same mold)
